ParkScan AI ("we," "us," or "the app") helps you understand parking signs by analyzing photos you take. We care about your privacy and keep the data we handle to the minimum needed to make the app work. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and your choices.

The short version

Information we handle

Photos you scan. When you scan a parking sign, the photo is sent over a secure connection to our processing service and our AI provider (Anthropic) to analyze the sign and return a result. We do not use your photos to advertise to you or sell them to anyone. A copy of photos you scan is also saved locally on your device so you can review your scan history.

Location (optional). If you grant location permission, the app can tag a scan or saved spot with its location (latitude, longitude, and an approximate address) so you can remember where you parked. This is stored on your device. If you don't grant location access, the app still works — scans simply won't be location-tagged.

Parking timers and notifications. If you start a parking timer, the app schedules local reminder notifications on your device. These are generated and delivered on your device.

Purchase information. If you subscribe to ParkScan Pro, your purchase is processed by Apple and managed through our subscriptions provider, RevenueCat. We receive subscription status (for example, whether your subscription is active) and an anonymous identifier. We never receive or store your full payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple.

Anonymous usage data. During onboarding we optionally ask how you heard about us. If you answer, we send only that single choice (for example, "TikTok") to our backend so we can understand what helps people discover the app. It is anonymous — not linked to your name, account, or a device identifier. A name you optionally enter for personalization stays on your device and is never sent to us.

On-device data. Your scan history, saved spots, streaks, and usage stats are stored locally on your device. This data stays on your device unless you choose to share it (for example, sharing a result image).
